Symmetric and antisymmetric constitutive tensors for bi-isotropic and bi-anisotropic media

چکیده

The Maxwell equations and the constitutive relations describe classical propagation of electromagnetic waves in continuous matter. Here, we investigate effects stemming from extended on bi-isotropic bi-anisotropic media using a general approach based evaluation dispersion refractive indices. For media, specify two classes magnetoelectric parameters represented by symmetric antisymmetric tensors. three cases examined have provided real distinct indices for propagating modes, which implies birefringence. modes were also carried out all cases. anisotropy or birefringence effect, given rotatory power phase difference, was evaluated terms theory each case. orthogonal to vectors used parametrize tensors is described representing route identify kind medium examined. group velocity Poynting vector discuss energy these anisotropic media.

An Inverse Problem for Maxwell's Equations in Bi-isotropic Media

In this paper, we consider Maxwell’s equations in a biisotropic and inhomogeneous medium. We discuss an inverse problem of determining the coefficients , ζ, μ in the constitutive relations from a finite number of interior measurements. The proof is done by a H−1−Carleman estimate.

Investigating the Longitudinal Optical Conductivity in Three-Layer Graphene Systems with Composes Mono-Bi-Bi and Bi-Mono-Bi and Bi-Bi-Mono

The longitudinal optical conductivity is the most important property for graphene-baseddevices. So investigating this property for spatially separated few-layer graphene systems analytically and numerically is the main purpose of our study. Each layer can be mono- or bi-layer graphene. The density-density correlation function has been screened by the dielectric function using the random p...

Remarks on isotropic extension of anisotropic constitutive functions via structural tensors

In their original formulation of the method of isotropic extension via structural tensors, which is meant for applications to the derivation of coordinate-free representation formulas for anisotropic constitutive functions, both Boehler and Liu start with the assumption that the invariance group of structural tensors is the symmetry group that defines the anisotropy of the constitutive function...

Homogenization of bi-anisotropic metasurfaces.

Ultrathin metamaterial layers are modeled by a homogeneous bi-anisotropic film to represent various kinds of broken symmetries in photonic nanostructures, and specifically in optical metamaterials and metasurfaces. Two algorithms were developed to obtain the electromagnetic (EM) wave response from a metasurface (direct solver) or the metasurface parameters from the EM wave response (inverse sol...

Fractional Duality in Homogeneous Bi-isotropic Medium

The fractional dual solutions of Maxwell equations in bi-isotropic medium are determined using the field decomposition approach. Both negative phase velocity and positive phase velocity propagation have been considered. The results are compared with the corresponding available results for isotropic and chiral medium. Time average power associated with fractional dual fields and corresponding so...
